International Youths Zen Studying Activity one thousand international youth travel Nanhua University
“2015 International Youths Zen Studying Activity”, founded by Fo Guang Shan. Over 1,300 Masters and Doctors. They were from Cambridge and Oxford, the UK, Colombia University, Yale University, University of New York City from USA, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Beijing University and Nanjing University from Mainland China. And some of them came from over 30 countries such as Hungary, Romania, Australia, New Zealand, Korea and Japan. They were especially arranged to visit Nanhua University in 27th, July. In order to keep them impressive, our school members arranged well instruction and performance.
“2015 International Youths Zen Studying Camp” was founded with the faith of Master Hsing Yun. To increase the morality education and to promote the Zen studying. The activity also provided a chance of communicating the youths each other from the world. In this seven-day activity, Fo Guang Shan had arranged many activities, including “Knowing Zen”, “Basic Buddhism” and “Life Experience”. Not only the activities above, but also a journey around Taiwan, made the youths to experience Taiwanese culture.
In the morning of 27th, July, Master Miao Fan and Master Miao Jia lead the group to visit Nanhua University, they were welcomed by Principle Lin and teachers of school. They arranged the performance played by the students of Department of Folk Music. Beside, we took an introduction about our studying environment.
Principle Lin said that the school was founded by the people who are willing to support. And Nanhua University also built “System of United Universities of Fo Guang Shan” with Fo Guang University in Ilan, Taiwan, University of the West in Los Angeles, USA, Nan Tien University in Wollongong, Australia, and Guang Ming University in Manila, Philippine. In the other words, the any students of these five universities can choose any course of other four universities. Principle Lin said that globalization is the main trend of world, let every students have mobile ability in the world.
